"Crazy Stones" - what's that? It refers to the creating of a new, crazy hiking experience in Bad Kleinkirchheim, where guests are invited to join in an international land-art-project by carrying stones from the village to the mountains "Nockberge". The goal of the project is to establish the region Bad Kleinkirchheim as a high-standard hiking destination. The stones are available at every accomodation and alpine hut along  the trails. All guests are invited to join in collecting, mine their own stones or personalize them by engraving their name and date into the stones.

It is considered as a best-practise example for the collaboration of entrepreneurship, associations and institutions of the village Bad Kleinkirchheim, where future-compliant projects are not only planned, but accompanied and definitely implemented until the end.

Leader of the new marketing campaign of the Nockberge destination is Bad Kleinkirchheim Tourismus Marketing GmbH which has developed new strategic offers for tourists around the "crazy stone" natural-area-project. The project is also included into the nationwide leading hiking trail "Alpen-Adria-Trail", which will be presented on the ITB 2012 in Berlin.

The "crazy stone" project is one of six awarded innovative tourism projects which will be supported by the so-called "Innovationsmillion" (one million for innovation) by the Austrian Ministry for Economics, Family and Youth:

1. "Wanderdestination Information & Vermarktung Bad Kleinkirchheim" - Bad Kleinkirchheimer Tourismus Marketing GmbH (Kärnten)
