The "JOIN THE JOURNEY" project (programmes of dynamic samples for population inclusion in customised tourist programmes) is an innovative model for launching systems of all-inclusive participation in the wider environment. It will increase the possibilities for active ways of spending free time, work and quality co-existence of the whole population. Familiarisation between involved parties and the inclusion of "different" people will improve the general education and empathy of the populace in certain areas. Based on a practical sample and the knowledge and skills provided through supporting courses and training for participants, we will achieve, together with cooperating parties and partners, personal growth and an ability to communicate and co-exist, and a case of good practice translatable to any environment in Slovenia or other parts of Europe and the world.
Together with our partners and cooperating parties we will propose selected project content as an innovative model of developing systems of inclusion into the wider environment which can also be useful elsewhere. The model and its special characteristics will improve the chances for inclusion, employment, tolerance and general education. Active spending of free time will become a value benefiting us all, both those who are primarily givers and those who will be included as receivers. Existing tourist services will be integrated and offered in a different way
People with different abilities (physically disabled, hearing impaired, blind or partially sighted, the elderly, etc.) and their assistants will be offered full care, including everything from reception, accommodation and a medical check-up to therapy. Such care will be provided in collaboration with interested partners in various locations (spas, tourist farms, hotels and apartments, camps, pools, theme and amusement parks, cultural institutions/museums, galleries, theatres) or within a special (internal) organisational unit.
People with different abilities will have at their disposal the aids they need, suitably qualified assistants and appropriate means of transport.
Non-visually impaired people will be enabled to perform their usual activities in the usual way with the usual aids.
Assistants will likewise be offered various options for active holidays so that during their stay and the programme they will not necessarily be restricted to the person they are assisting.
