Indeks turističnega zaupanja se računa na osnovi elektronske ankete, ki jo izvaja Inštitut za turizem Ekonomske fakultete (ITEF) Univerze v Ljubljani na vzorcu izbranih turističnih strokovnjakov iz javnega in zasebnega turističnega sektorja.

Rezultati so pokazali, da je slovenski turizem v letu 2007 dosegel nadpovprečne rezultate, vendar pod evropskim in svetovnim povprečjem. Nadpovprečna so tudi pričakovanja za leto 2008, predvsem iz naslova predsedovanja Slovenije EU. Predstavniki zasebnega in javnega sektorja se precej razlikujejo v oceni uspešnosti turističnega poslovanja za leto 2007. Zasebni sektor je presenetljivo prvič ocenil turistično poslovanje bolj pozitivno kot javni sektor. Več o Indeksu turističnega zaupanja si lahko preberete tukaj.
