V Izraelu kljub trenutnemu vojnemu stanju dokončujejo »Ayalon Park«, ki naj bi postal simbol izraelskega ekološkega turizma. Smetišče, ki se nahaja na obrobju Tel Aviva od leta 1952 (in pošteno smrdi), bodo preoblikovali v mestni park s številnimi rekreacijskimi možnostmi. Na 2000 hektarih bodo obiskovalci lahko kolesarili, jahali, uporabljali krajše sprehajalne in daljše pohodniške ture ter uživali ob potokih in drevesih.

V parku bo postavljen tudi Center za recikliranje z najbolj inovativnimi tehnologijami recikliranja odpadkov, v katerem bodo predstavljali uporabljene tehnologije in nudili izobraževanja o varovanju okolja. Projekt spodbujata izraelska vlada in organizacija »Prijatelji Ayalon parka«.
